No, he can't do it by himself. Every great player has had either a dominant teammate or a bunch of really good role players around him. Shaq is arguably the most physically dominant player ever, but he has always had the aid of a great teammate to help him make it to the Finals. Younger people don't remember when Anfernee Hardaway was 'Penny', but he was on par with Kobe and Wade. People like to claim that Jordan did it alone, but Pippen was a top ten player in the league and Jordan was surrounded by a multitude of superior role players doing his championship run. So no, as great as he is, Kobe can't do it alone. The Lakers will have to acquire a star or one or all of his current teammates are going to have to step their collective game up.

Kobe is a fantastic player, however the post presence of Shaq is highly overrated. Don't assume that one big non-finesse, can't even make a free throw if he were at gunpoint center is going to get Kobe back to the promise land. People forget that other than Shaq and Kobe, the Lakers had a stout supporting cast that included: Rick Fox, Robert Horry, Devean George, Derick Fisher, among others. A 1-2 tandem is old news in the NBA. The game has evolved to where the team game is crucial especially on the defensive side of the ball. Kobe is definitely a great start to a championship, however the Lakers need more than simply Lamar Odom to constitute a supporting cast. So the answer to your question: nah.

Hell no! The Lakers need a big name center to draw double teams, play defense down low, and clean the glass before they can even think about championships. The only reason the Lakers even went 7 games with the Suns is because Amare Stoudamire couldn't play because the outcome still would've been the same but with Phoenix winning in fewer games on fresher legs.

No way. Kobe messed that up when he sent Shaq packing. The only reason they made the playoffs this year is cause Phil Jackson came back. If the wanna make the Finals, they have to get AT LEAST one more big name player.

Well to answre that question let me pose another. Has there been any championship team in recent history to win a title w/either just 1 superstar or a shallow bench? I believe the answer would be no. The only teams to win w/1 or no superstars are San Antonio and Detroit but they had deep-deep benches. So Kobe being the only superstar and a shallow bench, no, he cannot win a championship w/the roster they have now

not in a million years...kobe cant even win a playoff series without shaq... that's the truth man...

the lakers will not qualify for the playoffs next season and kobe is ok with that coz all he wants to do is win the scoring title, which is very pathetic, and nobody cares...

so kobe fans out there, please accept reality coz he sucks bigtime and kobe will be jealous of younger superstars who are clearly better than him like wade and lebron...

but the lakers still have a chance to win the championship, that is if they trade kobe hahahaha...

yes with some improvement at the power forward position he is going to need somebody to do the dirty work and allow him to isolate and create double teams wich will create open shots for teamates. he is a scoring force and a good defender he just needs help and i like some of his teamates L. walton has a high basketball I.Q. and good jumper smoosh is a great athlete, they just picked up farmar in the draft lamar odom should stop under achieving and get that double-double every night he could be the poor mans kevin garnett so all the no people yall just hate kobe , but you are wrong and i dont like him either.

do not keep in mind ever putting forward that.. yet Bryant replaced into extra significant than Shaq back in the days. people hated Kobe so he did not get any credit or any awards. Neither Kobe OR MJ must have credit for preferable there communities to a championship because Phil formed them to be arguably both magnificent gamers of all time.
