As you may deduce, I am not American, not Muslim or Jewish and I live in Europe.

My question was generated after listening the last news about Middle East. I find the situation quite dangerous because attacking / occupying a country, generating pain and humillation is a source of hate and revenge....a neverending story.

I would like to feel and understand what the People from America think about the subject under different points of view.

Alliances with petrol producer Arab Countries might be considered part of commercial deals...what happens between Israel and US?

In this case, how true is the so called fight against terror and evil ???

that is a good question, especially after what is hap ping now in Lebanon. i mean attack the airport, main roads, electric cables, television company (AL manar) and want to get rid of Hezbollah, where is the America which is supposedly build on the freedom of speech (destroying a TV company) and the freedom of bearing arms and militia (trying to get ride of Hezbollah) and the killing of tens of families?? Israel have kidnapped Palestine ministers, people who are recognized b y the world and they say give us our 2 troopers back. the troopers where at "war" attacking Palestinians. right now the news is cincintrating on lebenon, God knows what is happing in Palistine right now. where is the United Nations, doesn't it have a word or to to say, or shoul we add it up with ur question . the only answer i can find for ur answer is that the United States and Israel are in this together, and they want to get rid of arabs for many reason: Oil, geographical location(center of the world, trading and rising their economy) lands phisical apperance( no rocks or trees so sit is cheaper to build) AND to feel grand, (boss the little guys around)

Israel is defending itself.

The state of Israel was legally created out of the dismemberment of the Ottoman Empire at the end of World War I. The area was desolate, desert and swamp, with some small towns and a few inhabitants, many of them nomads. The inhabitants considered themselves mostly Syrian. The Balfour Declaration issued by the British, who were given the mandate over the area by the League of Nations. Jews have lived in the country since Biblical times. The Arabs from the surrounding areas were lured to "Palestine" by the industry and prosperity that the Jews brought to the region. Envy, hatred and religious fanaticism turned the Arabs against the Jews. In 1947, under pressure, the British resigned their mandate. The same year, the United Nations mandated partioning of the territory. The Jews, though disappointed, accepted the partition. The Arabs rejected it and launched war against Israel. The armies of five Arab countries invaded. Following the exhortations of the invaders, the Arab residents got out of the way hoping to return after victory was attained. They could then reclaim their property and that of the Jews, all of whom would have been killed or would have fled. Israel won. That and that alone is the source of the Palastinian "refugees". Had the Arabs accepted the UN partition plan, there would now have been a state of "Palestine" for the last 58 years. The might have attained a similar level of prosperity, advancement and development as Israel. 50% of Israel's population now includes refugees from Morocco, Algeria, Iraq and Yemen. All were accepted by Israel with open arms and have become successful members of their society. The Palestinians refused to integrate these refugees into their population and instead confined them to "refugee camps". The ones there are now fourth generation and through no fault of Israel.

Hey, here's an idea, why don't the Arabs get these 4th generation refugees and incorporate them into their society? 4th GENERATION?!? That would never happen in a developed nation, including Israel. It shows how incompetant the Palestinians are.

Could it be because Israel is a democracy and most of the Middle-eastern countries are religious dictatorships with the stated goal of driving Israel into the sea and destroying the U.S.?

Could it be that most of the them are acting fairly stupidly now that they know we are serious: "If you attack us, we will attack BACK!"

Seems simple, but they keep expecting that the seditious people in our country are going to cause us to cut and run. I hate that term, because it was applied to Democrats. I am a Democrat, but I'm a patriot and an American FIRST. My family also escaped Islam in the 1950s. You don't know what your missing. Go live there for a bit and find out. We might be able to rescue you. I wouldn't bother if you ask question like this without doing your own research first on BOTH sides of the issue.

Because the Arab countries have on numerous occasions attacked Israel, without provocation, they have kicked out all the Jews who'd been living in their countries for centuries and took all their possessions, they deny the right of Jews and Israelis to exist, and they support terrorism against Jews.

Those are all actions worthy of condemnation and contempt. Why would any sane person support these hate-filled Arabs?

We protected Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, two Arabian countries from attack and if you would bother to read the history books we backed Egypt in the Suez 1956 conflict (along with Russia against France and Britain if you don't care to look it up)

May be US is supporting Israel, but what made you think that it is doing so by attacking the Arabian Countries. US has attacked only Iraq, because of OIL only, i.e., in its self interest only.

It mystifies me, but it's not because of democracy. If the U.S. really cared about democracy, then why are they allies with Sauid Arabia? It is one of the most undemocratic nations on Earth.
