alphabet is alibata. I'm not sure about counting system, must be some form of Javanese.

On Dave B: Maybe not. The Spanish came first before trade with the Chinese became prevalent. That time, the Chinese was still "closed to the world", and didnt travel so much to make business. So perhaps they acquired the Uno, Dos, Tres...first. But even this is later on in the millenia, about just the last four to five centuries. I believe there was something else before that that came from the Malays and Indonesians. Something that developed into Alibata as well.

I say chinese since they were trading w/ chinese early into the history then comes the arab so logically Filipinos learn to adopt the arabic numeral system which is prevalent up to now.

Goodness! I have no idea but you may want to start with the Alibata, which is our native form of writing... maybe the numeric system is hidden somewhere there too. Too bad we're not using that anymore.

Good luck.
