Because the human body does not feel movement ... it feels *acceleration*. E.g. when you're in an airplane in mid-flight (with no turbulence) you don't feel anything ... it feels perfectly still. If you toss a ball up in the air it falls straight down. You only feel something when the plane is accelerating or decelerating in some direction.

The earth is not accelerating around the sun, and it does not accelerate as it rotates. Also, the sun is moving around the center of the galaxy, and you don't feel that either.

The answer to this is simple. The situation is analogous to moving about in an aeroplane. Do you ever feel that the plane is moving once it is in full flight. We could move around and play as if we were in the living rooms of our own house. The reason we don't feel the movement is because we are moving at the same speed and direction as the aeroplane itself. The movement of the earth , both rotation and revolution, cant be felt because we are undergoing the same movement along with the Earth. If, for instance, the Earth comes to a screeching halt, we will feel massive jerks. The planet because of its size will have a huge momentum that would take years for all loose objects on earth to settle down.

One must also note that besides the regular movements of rotation and revolution, the Earth has another movement resulting from the "Big Bang" that led to the formation of the Universe. The planet is moving along with the other stars and systems in the galaxy.

Because the earth is so large compared to us and we are moving at the same speed and motion as the earth, so we do not feel the movement.

Because we become a part of that movement - like when you are in a moving train (assuming the train wont juggle a lot) at a consistent speed, you will be able to do your normal stuff - like in side the airplane - you will not feel it move. You can walk normal in an airplane ya ? You don't feel it move though it travels at 500 kmph

Hi,

I think not sure that we don't feel the earth moving around the sun because the movement is slow.

We don't feel the earth when it moves around own its own cause it does it extremely fast!

the earth is revolving around sun and rotating on its axis.

the solarsystem is rotating as a part of galaxy. further galaxies are moving away from each other.

we dont feel earth moving as we are moving at the same speed as earth. the relative velocity of us and earth is same.

The force of gravity stops any movement in the earth. without it you would fell alot of movement like an earthquake.

cause we are moving with earth in the same speed and motion along with it, so that is one of the reasons too that we dont fall off as you fall off when standing on a ball with different speed and motion to your body

WE ALL MOVING WITH IT AT THE SAME SPEED .. THEREFORE WE CAN NOT FEEL IT'S MOVEMENT .. BUT IF IT'S SPEED SLOW DOWN OR INCREASE THEN WE WILL FEEL IT'S MOVEMENT . LIKE WHEN WE SITTING IN A CAR MOVING AT A VERY HIGH SPEED AND STOPPED SUDDENLY.
