My son is 10 years old and has started growing hairs down below, but his mood and attitude is really bad. Is it because of him changing?

I know about his hair growth as my son is very open about everything. He came running down stairs shouting mum I've got w*""*e hairs!!! He also wants to be stripper when he's older, total exhibishionist. Which he definately does not get from me, and he doesn't know his dad.

My son is very health concious. He eats very little in the way of bad foods, which i include sweets, take-a-ways and deserts. He's extremely active, he is normal where by he plays on ps2 and nintendo ds but he is not stuck to it.

my son is twelve now and he had really bad moods, for about two years between ages 9 - 11. he did realise though and would just say to me, not talking just yet, and that is how we coped with it. also i had explained to him ALL about sex, puberty and periods, so he already understood that women get tetchy sometimes, and so was not a huge problem when he realised that he would get tetchy too! one thing that you have to remember is that it is only a phase albeit a rotten one and one day he will be a new improved version of the son you had a couple of years ago. this worked to keep our family sane, and now we are starting all over again with our 9 year old. gluttons for punishment or what!

Both my boys started with the moods when they hit about 10, my sons are now 18 and 23 and they can still get moody but they are a lot less moody than what they used to be.

Your son's body is changing because of the huge increase in the levels of sex hormones sluicing through it. The physical changes are dramatic and rapid, the effect of these hormones on his brain is greater and even faster. His mental processes are quite literally originating in his balls. Yes, he will be moody, irrational rebellious, stroppy &c........on the plus side all that will be out of the way by the time he is a teenager.
