You probably have a virus...

you have a trojan. unless you know the ins and outs of system32 and i386 i suggest you take it in to someone to remove the trojan. apparently you dont have any virus protection and if you try to install it now the trojan will set up a block and the virus protection wont be able to get rid of it. you cant put it on after you get the trojan. take it in and have it cleaned and back up your files and do a clean install of windows with either norton or mcafee virus protection and firewalls. make sure you have a good spyware program as well like ad-aware or spy sweeper. they will get rid of the attached spy ware that can cause an open hole for the trojan to enter through. you are looking at about 100 to 200 at a repair shop unless you know someone like the IT guy at work type to do it on the side but do it the correct way. good luck and make sure you get protection from now on.

1) a virus..... try running an online scan @ http://housecall.trendmicro.com or download ZONEALARM INTERNET SECURITY SUITE from http://www.zonelabs.com - once installed, crank the firewall up to full, and run an anti-virus + Spyware scan.

Also check the Start-up files, to see if there's anything listed there that shouldn't be. Start > Run > "msconfig" to view it.

2) Try running a scan at http://www.pcpitstop.com to test the rest of the system.

3) a bodgy component inside the casing.

Possible causes:

- Virus/spyware infection
- Overheating
- Failing power supply
- Failing hard drive

Check the event logs and record any errors you're seeing from blue screens, etc. Then search on the net for a solution.
