America the ultimate superpower, but also the worlds troublemakers. Terror has been funded by the US and its industries for many many years. For example:
IRA: Irish militants where actively funded by Americans and could LEGALLY fundraise on american soil. They then used this money to fund murders and terrorist attacks on Irish and English soil.
Taliban: Old story, but funded by the Americans to fight the Communist forces, given arms and tought guerilla and terrorist warefare.
Israel: Created following the 2nd world war, in the middle of another country, British are just as much to blame on this one. Have since been funded to brutally supress the local population, who are a little peeved at their placement. When the palestinians then fought back, Israel made themselves matyrs and got more funding from the Americans and still do. Then as recent as this month Israel invade a foreign teritory and terrorise the inhabitants, cutting off power and water etc.
Im English and White FYI.

What is a terrorist to one side, is a freedom fighter to the other side. It all depends from which angle of the crystal you are looking through.
Every strong country in the world throughout our history that had the power did the same to the weaker side, it is human nature and our genetic composition, and each one had a moral justification for its abuse.
I can only caution that sooner or later what goes around comes around.

Actually, you'd be surprised how many countries have funded such groups. The U.S. just has two problems that make it harder for them:
1) Free press. When we do it, it's posted all over the tabloids. When another country does it, and someone tries to report it, the reporter is arrested. You really aren't so naive as to think that such groups haven't been funded by a majority of the nations in the world, are you?
2) Diversity. Not only did PRIVATE groups fund Irish militants, but Private groups also funded English militants on the other side. The U.S. shuts them down when we catch it.
3) Taliban were natives fighting against Russia, but Russia had not been attacked. They had simply occupied the country. We funded the natives against illegal invaders.
4) Taliban organized a terrorist act on our own soil, using Al-Quada (which is listed in their government structure as a part of their government), so we attacked them. That's self-defense.
5) Israel made themselves martyrs? You mean by being killed right and left? Not quite the same thing as strapping a bomb on your body and killing women and children! Poor terrorists not appreciated, huh?
6) The recent invasions Israel has made have been in direct response to acts of war. You want them to stand still and just take it. You want us to do the same. You twist the facts, and expect a society that has free speech just to believe you?
You don't know the West very well.
We'll crush the terrorists and every nation that shelters them. You want to side with them? We'll watch you. If you speak seditiously, we'll answer you. If you act treasonously, we'll have you arrested.
Life can be pretty simple once you realize who is trying to undermine and attack you, can't it? Which side are you on?

If this is a question, OF THEY COULD. As they have branded Iraq and other countries and after "democratizing it", they fail to prove their allegations. America will never run out of ways to label or lack a scapegoat for what they truly want.
Note the case of World War 2, Japan's trade relations were flanked by Americans, so they could be provoked to desperate situations. Another is the use of atomic bomb. More recent is Iraq. Bush wasn't able to prove his claim at all.

That the Stupidity of our American Government!
I also agree with Bob (Below): He mentioned "What is a terrorist to one side, is a freedom fighter to the other side. It all depends from which angle of the crystal you are looking through." Very true!

They named it so they could gain more power from it.
The patriot act failed when it was first introduced by Roosevelt. As soon as 9/11 happened it took less than a week to pass it.

The real problem isn't that America funds terrorism, it's that terrorism funds America. Our economy would collapse on itself if the Saudis pulled their money out.
