My period is not due for another week or so (not very regular as I have recently stopped Deprovera), but I have a feeling I may be pregnant.
I have done a home test, which showed a positive & then a negative result. I have been told I may have A) done the test too late in the day (did it in the afternoon) or B) I may not have been far enough along in a pregnancy. I also bled for a day, thought I was getting my next period & then nothing - all stopped.
How early is "too early" to start testing? I don't want to wait until my period is nearly here or gone! :) and I'm getting a little too excited! lol

they say that with the new pregnancy tests you can test as early as the day after your period is due. You say you bled for a day than it stopped you could have had implantation bleeding (the egg attaching itself to the uterus wall.) You could probably have a blood test done, but I suggest waiting until your period is due. Could your body just be reacting to stopping deprovera? I don't know a lot about that. If you got a positive, well, your probably pregnant. Most times the pregnancy tests will only give you an incorrect negative. good luck.

I've always heard that you may get a false negative on a home pregnancy test, but you don't get a false positive. If you got a positive, you're probably pregnant. Go see a doctor for a blood test to know for sure.

I have done home pregnancy test as soon as three days after a missed period and it has been correct. If you are unsure of your results, go to you doctor. They can do a simple blood test that is more accurate.

You should test in the morning, first thing, when you get up for your morning tinkle, the key hormones for pregnancy is higher then.
