blinds are forced bets to get the action going.
The two players to the left of the dealer are the small blind and the big blind, they have to put money in before they even get their cards, this ensures that any other interested hands have to put money forward.

the blinds r the people who make the blind bets they r to the left of the dealer big blind makes a bet and the small blind makes half that bet and puts the rest in when the get their cards

answer no.#2 is correct...it's to keep players in the game....so that everyong isn't folding all the time.......HINT: Someone may be staying in the game with a bad hand because their money is already in the pot.....keep that in mind....
