I would like to know why Americans refuse to allow other political parties the chance to come up and have a say in the senate and House. Or is the county now afraid of what a third or fourth party might pose. Or is it a government of convenience that is using a two party system to fool its people while they do what they please.

A. We are a republic, if we were a democracy in the true Greek sense we would have more say.

B. Other parties are not illegal, they exist on tickets all around the nation. However, we tend to follow the notion "majority rules" and the majority of the people choose two parties. With organization and FUNDING, we could easily have a third party (it has not been that long since this very notion has divided elections and placed canidates with few votes in office).

The fact that Americans can choose to have only a two party system is evidence of democracy. But america is not really a democracy, its a constituional republic. Most people dont know that.

It can be argued that America is not a truely democratic state as the candidates for the presidential elections are invariably representative of the upper class of American society and there is little chance for a populist candidate to succed owing to the massive costs involved.

Your question shows that you have no understanding of life or of politics. First; the U.S. is not a democracy. I REPEAT, the U.S. is not a democracy, it is a constitutional republic. Second; Many, I REPEAT,"many" third and fourth party candidates run for office each year.

US is a Representative Republic, not a true Democracy. All the money is in the 2 main parties, so that's where all the power lies.

The two parties provide stability. No constant government changes like in Europe. 230 years is a long time for one government system. Whether or not it is better or worse is for someone else to decide.

no way Jose and yes you are right, they are giving to much to technology and pumping their money into Military.

Now you even pay for hospitals. Yet half of you are unemployed or on charity work. Some of your highest paid citizens work for VSO World Bank and the Church. You have a democracy problem. I think you need more money !
