First, protect yourself first! And only then your Yahoo email is DOUBLE protected, since you have been protected yourself first then when you send YOUR email, Yahoo by default is also scanning for viruses. When you open also an email from others, you are being 'DOUBLE' protected.
Use antivirus like I preferred: ANTIVIR. Last month, I got Yahoo email with attachment. When I open the attachment, my antivirus triggered and catched the worm. So, I emailed back that her email has a virus!

think yahoo email has an anti virus already set up on it! i could be wrong but when i set up attachments yahoo does a virus check so it must be the same the other way round!

no u cant.. since it is a free mail - it doenst come with lots of features .. unless u upgrade it to premier user
you should becareful when download from mail , do not open any file that stranger send to u ....and dont simply download it to ur com... if u have to - download it to a special drive ,for example - d : - then use virus scan the file

yes, you should have "local" protection. but yahoo and all the other email services have layers of protection that the messages flow through. doesn't stop everything, but it catches the vast majority.
