Any good doctor will wash their hands between patients, any instuments will be sterilized and use sterilized latex gloves for personal contact both to prevent infection transfer to him/her self and their patients. You can find a good ob/gyn by getting several referals to the same doctor in your area. Ask your older female friends "who do they use" ask pharmacist who's the best in their opinion, ask your family doctor - when the same name keeps coming up... go see that one. Then ask questions of style and temperment, he/she may not be right for you. Good luck.

well... in any setup every doctor is supposed to wash hands with soap and disinfectant solutions ... then they wear sterile gloves and the instruments (speculum etc) are also sterlized... so it is highly unlikely that one would catch infection by visiting a gynaecologist ...

of course quakes and midwives in some third world countries don't follow these practices and are dangerous ....
