No i don't think so. he has got that title for the way he played for the whole tournament. and his action which was not acceptable should have other fines impossed but not stripping him off this title.

I think he deserves shame, and he's got it.
But the golden ball is about sports achievement and ability. We should keep politics out of that. If he got it for being a good team captain and paying well he should keep it. What a mess it would be if every sports award carried a requirement of good behavior. Imagine the olympics, after every event the judges have to look at who finished first and then decide if they really deserve it.
No, I think Zidane will be punished enough as it is.

Yes,because he reacted in a so unprofessional way.I mean,of course Materazzi should do what he did,but Zidane could insult him too.He didn't realize that he was not an animal!Cannavaro would never do that,so he deserves the golden ball!

i think Materazzi is one who should be punished severely..
becoz in a view of a game you see, one should not say anything that can hurt others morale..
i agree also that Zidane should not head-butt him whatever that bull materazzi said, he should have controlled his until the last whistle,
then he could do whatever actions he would wanted to take against him...
then zidane could have a good end of his career..
i think his golden ball should not be taken from him for this one violent act...
i hope i answered a good answer.....

Yes, that was a cheap shot. he should have at least fought like a man. A hockey player would, or at least suck it up until after the game, and then fight.
When the game is on the line, he was selfish. Too bad for him and his team.
An angry Frenchman...c'est la vie. Maybe his baguettes were hard or his wine too rose. Maybe his cheese wasn't moldy enough. Who knows.
As far as his award, it's his. his rep is gone though.

DO U THINK MATERAZZI SHOULD BE STRIPPED OF HIS WORLD CUP TITLE FOR HIS PROVOCATIVE RUDE BEHAVIOUR?? O! You mean to say, no evidence means the person is not wrong? ALLOW PROFESSIONAL LIP-READERS DO JUSTICE! Wake up!....Are you the same kind of black sheep supporting the black sheep? Blind blind....
Take a look:

Does that count? I think there r lot more things to be counted. His commitments n dedications to the team n the game. His skills n inspirations. How he captained the France team through to the final... Think again...

No, but he should probably be stripped. He's a good looking man, a lot of women (and probably a lot of men too) would appreciate the view.

NO WAY! ZIDANE DESERVED THIS AWARD FOR HIS PLAY DURING THE WORLD CUP. HE CAN'T BE TAKEN AWARD FROM BECAUSE OF SOME JERK WHO DOESN'T KNOW WHAT OFFENDING FAMILY MEANS TO A NORMAL PERSON.
