thinking of doing an admin course whats the good and bad points of working in admin-what propects are there?

My mum's best friend works as an Admin, in a arts and culture centre in the city.

I'm in admin at the moment before I transfer into my new job. There's lots of different admin jobs. I'm on my own most the time and left to get on with it. My job's ok but boring which is why I'm on Yahoo! Answers all the time! You could end up being an Office Manager or a PA which could earn up to about £20k doing.

There are lots of different types of admin jobs, it depends on what sector you will be working in. Like working for media or something will be more fun than perhaps working in legal.
If you like people, and can talk to people well then its okay. There are not really that great prospects though, the highest you can probably go is office manager.

My good friend is an admin assistant in a manufacturing plant:
The good:
- Usually you have a variety of duties, so not too boring
- Get to work with people
The bad:
- Salary sucks - she makes $28,000 and the boss said she probably won't get much higher than that

I love working in admin its so easy and as im a talkative person love talking to our customers on the phone. Its great

I've just started volunteering as admin for a charity for one day a week to gain first hand experience. suggest you try it

Worked in it for 40 years, abroad and at home. Interesting sometimes but can be mundane. Try to specialise after taking a basic course.

I work in admin and all I do is ponce about on this web site all day cause its so damn boring...do yourself a favour get yourself a decent job!
