Of course Federer. He is simply the best tennis player there is, at the moment.
He only has a problem on clay, but given his advance to the Final at Roland Garros, it's only a matter of time before he completes his own set of Grand Slam events.
Nadal is good on clay and I think he was lucky to get that far at Wimbledon, mainly because the better grass players went out early.
The usual pecking order should be restored at next month's US Open, obviously with the Federer Express steaming forward again.

Federer is better than Nadal and will always be better than Nadal. Roger Federer's style of play is the most mature and the safest. Because of the techniques in his strokes are pretty much textbook that means that he is less likely to get injured. Nadal on the other hand is going to have to deal with ALOT of injuries because the way he hits the ball. For example in Nadal's forehand. He swings his racket upwards against the ball WHILE leaning back. This put too much strain on his back so instead of getting better later on he most likely will be out of commission like Serena is. There is a reason why Federer is number one and why hes also 2,000 points ahead of Nadal. Federer plays alot of tournaments on all surfaces and just because he is the best on grass people tend to get that he had a HUGE hard court winning streak. Nadal is good. He is really good but there is a reason why Federer is being compared to the greats. Nadal only wins on clay and there is a logical reason to why he always beats Federer. Nadal plays with a huge amount of spin which kicks the ball up to where your hitting balls over your shoulders. That is extremely hard for someone with a one handed backhand to attack and that is all Nadal did in the French Open 2006. Federer is the best and Nadal wont be the best until Federer is gone.

Nadal is a great player but Federer is just that much better. The amazing thing about Federer is that when he's playing well, he's almost always in the perfect positon for the next shot, while nadal is running all over. It may be more exciting to watch Nadal but Federer is at another level and even his peers admit that.

that's a hard question to answer cause they both have there unbeatable surfaces;Fed having grass and Rafa having clay. Federer is a better overall player on all surfaces but Nadal is only 20 so he's learning very quickly especially on grass. i really couldn'd believe that he made it to the Wimbledon final and, if he had won the second set(which he really could of), the result could have been different or we would have seen a spectacular classic five-setter. But, right now i would say Federer is the better OVERALL player, but if you give Rafa a year or two i think we'll be seeing him be the world's best player.

Nadal is the better player. He beat federer in clay court and hard court and really gave him a scare at wimbledon final. Nadal is the future no.1, He has the game to achieve it.

Feds. Their head-to-head might seem to say otherwise, but head-to-heads are a joke. How many times has Nadal lost in an early round of a tournament that Federer later went on to win? That'll give you a much better picture of their rivalry.
Nadal is awesome. He has a lot to improve on, though, and I'm certain he'll have his time at number one when he does improve.
