Start with the left side of the equation
You have to find a common denominator to subtract "x/4" from 7:
7 - x/4
=7*(4/4) - x/4
=28/4 - x/4
=(28 - x)/4
Also, 5(x + 1) = 5x + 5
So, (28 - x)/4 = (5x + 5)/9
Multiply the whole equation by (9 * 4) to cancel the denominators:
(9*4)*(28 - x)/4 = (9*4)* (5x + 5)/9
(9)(28 - x) = (4)(5x + 5)
252 - 9x = 20x + 20
232 = 29x
x = 8
Plus 8 back into the original equation to check the answer:
7 - ((8)/4) =5(8 + 1)/9
7 - 2 = 5(9)/9
5 = 45/9
5 = 5
It works!

7 – x/4 = 5 (x + 1)/9
FIND THE LCM & open the brackets
Therefore 28 – x /4 = 5x + 5 /9
= 9( 28 – x) = 4 ( 5x + 5) cross multiplication
= 252 – 9x = 20x + 20
= 252 – 20 = 20x + 9x rearranging the equation
= 232 = 29x
= 232/29 = 29x/29
Therefore x = 8 (answer)

THIS IS THE RIGHT ONE
7-x/4=5x/9+5/9
5x/9+x/4=7-5/9
4*5x/36+9*x/36=36*7/36-4*5/36
20x+9x=252-20
29x=232
x=232/29
x=8

7 - x/4 = 5(x + 1)/9
7 - x/4 = 5x + 5/9
Multiply the The Parenthesis first
7 - x/4 = 5x/9 + 5/9
seperate the right hand fraction
(36)7 - (36) x/4 = (36)5x/9 + (36)5/9
36 is the common denominator
252 - 9x = 20X + 20 new equation after simplify
-20 -20 subtract 20 from both sides
232 - 9x = 20X New equation
+9x + 9X Add 9x to both sides
232 = 29X
232/9 + 29x/29 Divide both sides by
29
8 = X
The answer is X = [8]

7- x/4=5(x+1)/9
7 – x/4 = (5x+5) / 9
7 = 5x/9 + 5/9 + x/4
6 + 4/9 = 5x/9 + x/4
6 + 4/9 = 20x/36 + 9x/36
6 + 4/9 = 29x/36
(6 + 4/9)*36 = 29x
232 = 29x
8 = x

7-(x/4)=5(x+1)/9
( 28 - x ) * 9 = 4 * ( 5x + 5 ) by cross multiplication
252 -9x = 20x + 20
252 -20 = 20x + 9x taking variable one side
232 = 29x
x = 232/29

7-x/4=5(x+1)/9
=> (28-x)/4=5(x+1)/9 (Taking LCM)
=> 9(28-x)=20(x+1) (By cross multypling)
=> 252-9x=20x+20
=>-252+252-9x=20x+20-252
