What we see in different colors is the reflection of light. If the object we look at is absorbing all light we see it in black (that's why not recommended wear black in summer - it takes all the heat), so black is no color, it's nothing. White is proportional mix of all possible colors - so white objects reflect all light they get. It's just light, again no color.
BUT we never see completely white or black objects(which would be invisible - just a black spot), so what we call black or white is a very light/dart shade of another color.
Huh pretty clever said for my age!

There is only reflected light. That is what you see. Black is the absence of reflected light. White is the total reflection of all the colours in the visible spectrum.

You can make a green wall appear red by shining purple (I think) light on it, the point is you can change the colour of things by change the nature of the light which is reflected back, what you percieve as one colour a creature with different eyes may percieve as another different hue. Colour is a concept to describe the different wavelengths of reflected light which our eyes detect.

it is hard to define colour,...it can only be defined as a human sensation....
your eyes react to different shades of light, and what we determine as colors
are different wavelengths of light. When we say an object is a certain
color, it is because it is reflecting more of a certain wavelength light.
For example red objects reflect "red" light, or light with a longer
wavelength (lower frequency) better than other types of light.

So, we determine the color by the primary type of light the object reflects
(or emits if it is a light). We also perceive other properties of colors, and that is lightness or darkness. A light colored object may reflect one color especially well, but also reflect other colors as well. A very light green object, for example, reflects green very well, but also reflects most other colors, just not as well.Dark objects tend not to reflect light very well at all, even if it reflects
one color better than the other.

White objects, tend to reflect all types of light equally well, and tend to
reflect most of the light cast on it.
Black objects also, tend to reflect all types of light equally, they just
dont reflect much of the light cast on them.

the difination of colour is-its the reflection of ray of light that a substance doesn't absorb.
well, black n witht r also the colours but the difference is when an object absorbs these colours VIBGOYR then it forms black and when it doesn't absord any then it forms white..

The definition of color is hard to say.

"1. That aspect of things that is caused by differing qualities of the light reflected or emitted by them, definable in terms of the observer or of the light, as:

1. The appearance of objects or light sources described in terms of the individual's perception of them, involving hue, lightness, and saturation for objects and hue, brightness, and saturation for light sources.
2. The characteristics of light by which the individual is made aware of objects or light sources through the receptors of the eye, described in terms of dominant wavelength, luminance, and purity."

Black and white are not colors because they are the absence of colors.

Color or colour (see spelling differences) is a property of light that is determined by its wavelength (or by its composition as a blend of several wavelengths). The range of visible wavelengths of light is known as the visible spectrum, or simply the spectrum.

Odd. But okay. I would say that color is a particular frequency of light. White is a blend of all colors, black is none.

As such there is no definition of colour. If there is then i'm not aware of it.So please send me the definition. It's a mere stupidity that black & white are not colours. What do you mean by color? Both color & colour have different meanings.

White is a equal combination of all colors, black is an absence of color.
