Maradona was redcarded after kicking Gentile, then he played in Italy and became an icon; Zidane played in Italy, then redcarded after headbutting Materazzi. Go figure! (pssst, no soccer star should mess about with Italian team during FIFA WC)

HA HA HA and what would be your reason as to why Ferrari cars and the most stylish clothes are made in Italy then LOL. It's all to do with bidets and good food mate.

Totti at one time spat on someone and was condemned by everyone. Now Zidane HEADBUTTS someone and only the Italians condemn him.
Perhaps all non-bidet-using nations should consider getting one as not washing your butt seems to impair your judgement?

To see if you are impaired is easy: Imagine Zidane had headbutted someone from your own team.

If you are from a non-bidet-using nation and are not french then chances are your player has been raised eating rubbish so that head butt could have seriously hurt him!

THEN if that was an USA guy it could have escalated into some international incident where some Usa judge MIGHT have awarded your injured player $96 million for damages.

Zidane (who is backed up by his loyal dirty butt president) would never have coughed up the money (and the deed had happened in Germany so get real you dirty (fat)butts) and so perhaps the yanks would have considered embargoeing the French and perhaps even Nuking them, and so on and on and on and on.
Given 20 years
It could have escalated into suicide bombings all over the world, people would be scared of traveling by bus IN SPAIN even.

Zidane is a genius, the man is a legend. He is a joy to watch. I think that Materazzi must have said something really bad for Zizou to do this. I do agree that he got red carded, but he is still the man. The Italian team are obviously using other tactics to get the game. The french could have won that game if Zizou took the peno, but alas there's always 2010... Is he married, I think he is gorgeous, my husband is so jealous of the way I like Z. He is sooooo gorgeous.

Did you know that Zidane got 14 redcards in his career? He got punished even in World Cup 1998 (when France actually won) for violent acts.
It' not the first time he headbutt's a player, and there is another player that couldn't play football anymore because Zidane crushed his leg.
And his "sincerity",oh please he talked to the press after three days, that doesn't give you any doubts?Violence has nothing to do with football!!!

David Beckham playing in the EPL got red carded after a mindless challenge on Simone in 1998

Thierry Henry playing in EPL got redcaeded after a career threatening two footed challenge vs Uruguay 1n 2002

Wayne Rooney playing in EPL got redcarded after stamping on Carvalho then stupidly pushing away Ronaldo in 2006
