Hi, I'm Hannah. I know you hear my thoughts and all, but I wonder just how you hear them.
For instance, if you hear the melody I'm thinking or not. Or hear me coughing.
A clue would be helpful.

I hear the sound of footsteps and hooves, and little dogs crying in a pool of their own urine. I hear trees whistling to the shepherd of the flocks of wolves as the moon speaks to the stars in languages long since dead on earth. I watch the skies turn from red to black and stare at the child swinging lonely in the park 'neath the night time sun. And then I see the clues that lead me down the stairs to the top of the old oak, where I stare at the ground, and the ground stares back. The sky rips as the demons of my past fly through the tears on my cheeks and I smile as I fall to my death among the nettles. The day falls, the night breaks, and the grass has swallowed me whole.

I hear my thoughts speaking your words (not outloud, but I can "hear", in a manner of speaking).
Obviously, I couldn't hear the melody you are thinking of unless you tell me the title, and then only if I know the tune (and know the title of it) myself.
Obviously, I can't hear you coughing, but if you mention you're coughing I know what a cough sounds like, and can "hear" it, if I try.

Its called a stargate.
