Absolutely, considering the fact that global warming may or may not be creating drastic climate changes, nuclear threats, terrorist threats, and possibly getting hit by a comet or other celestial body.

Even if we are, the "edge of doom" may take 50, 100 years or more when habitation on earth goes back to the days of the neantherthals and in some places maybe not even possible to exist. Meanwhile i just want my chinese food thank you.

I wouldn't say doom, but I'm expecting definitely a big change. Economics, global warming, and the war on terrorism all will defeat democracy, I guess, and create much stronger central power with less individual freedom.

...the thought of doom will work paralysing...if you let it get to you...so it will be.
If you open your heart and mind for hope...there will be hope.
Be brave, the furure is still being shaped and you can make a difference.
Don't let them tell you everything will be in vain...it's a big lie
Don't be afraid...the less fear...the less evil...help is on it's way!
Take care...have a beautiful day!

doom? NO, God coming back someday and making this THE place to be......finally is certainly not doom....it is just prophecy.
He has had it up to "here" w/us......can you blame Him?
I would say just get into the Bible, read it verse by verse and enjoy the trip.........
