World War 3 actually started in 1945. It is a series of regional wars involving almost every country at one time or another in some way. Recent battlefields... Yugoslavia, Chechnya, Congo, Twin Towers, The Solomon Islands, Southern Phillipines, Israel/Palestine etc etc. We do not yet know what true international peace feels like. The Israeli bombing of Beriut International Airport signals an ongoing agressive phase which began 5 years ago. It could escalate an already existing interanational war to a new serious phase.

Why do you assume Israel is "starting" the problem?

Israel pulled out of Lebanon in 2000 and out of Gaza last year in efforts to "stabilize" the region as a demonstration of faith moving towards the goal of peace with the Palestinians. Rocket attacks, Israel abductions, threats of annihilation, etc., by enemies of Israel have provoked the "response" that you seeing. Check your facts...

Don't be naive to assume that the world powers are taking sides just yet. There are many major negotiations under way throughout the world with N. Korea and Iran to name a few. That doesn't mean that what's happening right now in the Middle East is going to draw everyone into a world conflict. That's highly unlikely.

I don't think the Lebanon airport is booming at all. Actually, I think it is out of commission right now because Israel bombed it just a little while ago.

In general, booming airports tend to help economies and don't usually create world wars.

We have recent history to prove that Israel, despite strong protest from their own citizens, gave back the huge track of territories to Palestine and Lebanon. The return of Gaza is the last dream for peaceful co existence in middle east but it never amounted to anything for Hamas,Hezbollah and Palestinian extremist. The escalation of armed conflict is inevitable as leaders of both warring countries have reached the point were missiles replaced truce and diplomacy. This is the kind of war where everybody believes they are "politically correct' in taking up arms and killing for their justified cause.
