because of its least count or the smallest length it can measure is 0.01 cm as compared to the ruler which is 0.1 cm.

i assume you mean than a ruler...

it's because they're generally made to be more accurate (so the markings are more accurate) and the bits you put the thing you want to measure between (don't know what they're called) let you get the 0 exactly at the thing's edge

because they calculate the width two digits after decimal .
and u can't calculate this using simple scale
