I am one of such parents. I homeschool my children, and as a result, they are more than twice as knowledgeable as the corresponding public school children. They also do not have the trauma of endlessly rehashing things that they already know and being force-fed useless information like the plot of some novel, while sitting in tight desks for 6 hours a day, and doing endless paperwork under the threat of being held back and facing MORE rehashed garbage. It is you who are the lazy ones that don't care about your children.

The benefits "culture" which is spreading like a cancer through the UK is the true source of this problem...
People in this country are rewarded with benefits and housing for failing to support themselves. The easiest way to get a house and cash without getting a job is to have children, because these people see their children as a financial investment they keep having more children...
What should be done prior to tackling the problem with these work shy layabouts not bothering to get out of bed in the morning and walk their kids to school is to tackle the problem of the benefits culture...
I personally believe you should only recieve benefits for your first two children and you should not recieve housing or housing benefits purely because you have a child... If you make the decision to have a child and you cannot afford to support that child I fully believe that it is the parents of the person having the child which should absorb the cost of supporting it, as they should have educated their own child well enough to know that you can't live off the state your entire life...
The people who fail to send their children to school are the same people who are living off the benefit culture in this country... They feel no need to send their children to school as they know that their children don't need an education or need to better themselves as the taxpayer will pay their way...
Nip the benefit culture and workshy population explosion problems in the bud and you will solve the problem of children not being sent to school at the same time...
People WILL send their children to school and ensure they get an education if the only way to support yourself is to find employment...
As long as an easy alternative exists there is no incentive to get an education and better yourself, the problem will continue to spread with each new generation and this problem will NEVER be solved...
(PS: The person below obviously didn't read the question through)

The fining the parents hasnt been a good start, so maybe if the goverment said 'if your daughter/son is out of school for more than 2 days with no explanation or holiday note they will be fined £50 everyday after the 2 days untill they do show up'. Or maybe they should just think about what there children will turn out to be no education etc... or of course they could kick the prison sentence in properly, although there is hardly any room in our prisons!

some accomplish that by using at least one in all those job they have (a range of of vacation). some because they don't like the time-honored of the babies in the realm (undesirable impact). some because they experience the shape is extra proper. some do because the community college isn't solid sufficient (some situations justified, some situations snobbery). some do because they prefer a strict religious upbringing. some do because they could and they are wealthy. I doubt this even addresses 1/2 the excuses, yet those are causes besides dumping. Oh, and one went to boarding college because community college wasn't problematical sufficient (he became extremely smart and his dad became wealthy). His different 2 siblings were in my instructions. I grew up in an section with many inner most boarding faculties for the rich. the babies did not like it and that i'd guess more desirable than 1/2 ought to not in any respect deliver their very own childrens to at least one.

In Ireland you are only allowed to miss a certain number of days, 20 to be exact, if your child has missed more school than this you get reported. This is a bit excessive I feel since over a year children can come down with bugs etc. you would be nearly pushing your kid into school with a bad cold to avoid the hastle that goes with keeping them out. It might be one answer to monitor days and keep in mind parential communication and if we have the situation above you would need someone from the state calling in for one month to their houses at 7am to get them out of bed, if they do not learn from this perhaps they should have their children temporarily taken off them.
For the cases of genuine depression / hardship perhaps someone calling in and motivating them to get their kids going and get on with their lives, some people are so down that is why they behave as they do. Like anything I would say judge on an individual situation.

Give them about i say 50 papercuts between their fingers and throw a good lickin' salt on it. No Band-Aids no nothing. You dont give your kids edu-muh-cation, you get no band-aids. Then chain them to the wall and tickle them in till they Scream for 30 minutes. Its a fun way to kill.
