Online banking is important to me - I very rarely go into a branch at the moment so it makes sense to get an account with good online service.

I have been using Natwest online banking for the past 5 years and it has been excellent. Secure, fast, and very easy to use. Just a shame about the interest rate!

Go for a Bank that has good online banking AND a branch network, because if something goes wrong it is better to know that you can go and see someone to sort it out.

Try LloydsTSB, i've been with them for years now, and have not one complaint, by the way, put your money in to the internet savings account, and you will get almost 5% interest, with the interest paid to you monthly, nice little earner, good luck to you.

HSBC. I can mail my checks to this bank and they will deposit. No more waiting in line or going to ATM.
