C'mon, the same seven teams have won this thing every time. Someone from Africa or Asia (even North America) has to come in and shake things up a bit for the World Cup to actually remain relevant to the rest of the world. To this end, I thought Austrailia had a good chance, had the Italians (Totti in particular) not pulled their flopping act to win the game. The whole flopping, whinny- baby momma's boy routine has to go before someone else can win. Otherwise teams like Italy will always win--the current system favours their style of play, which even die-hard fans of the current regime agree is frustrating and not fun to watch. It makes it so that penalty kicks (luck) and referees (momma) must decide the outcome of the match rather than the sporting abilities of the players. I want to see a return to the ************ football of the 70s and before. Then we will have a new champ, one worthy of the Cup. Italy has nothing to be proud of. They won because the current officiating system sucks, not because they were the best football team. If I was Italian I would hide my head in shame over my team. Most of the Italian players have absolutely no honour, no sense of sportsmanship. I hope they all go to jail over the current scandal--that would at least be somewhat just.
