What do guys look for in a woman leader?

Im having difficulties leading group of boys. What should I do?

Pretty much the same thing that they'd admire in a male leader:

Assertiveness -- without being "bossy" or "bitchy"
Competence -- without being a "know-it-all"
Diligence -- without being "picky"
Compassion -- without being "mushy"
Goal-directed -- without being obsessive

If a person shows those qualities, the person can lead, regardless of gender.

Well, its not abnormal that you are facing difficulties while leading a group of boys. It happens more often than not.
First of all, the boys might be having this Male Superiority Complex and thinking that A Woman cannot be a good leader and their Self-esteem will be dented if they take command from a Lady. To counter this you need to set some things right. Firstly you must not act too bossy to make up for the difficulties.
Try to induce team spirit into them, make them forget that you are leading them , tehy should feel that you all are a part of a team.. But at the same time, they must also realise that you are the one in charge. Create a congenial atmosphere for them to work with you, but do not become over friendly, they must know that where the line is and tey are not supposed to jump it.
Your approach should be careful mix of friendliness and strictness......
I'm sure all of them are not difficult cases, some of them must be alright, you wil surely be bale to judge this by observing them.... Try to take 1 or 2 such guys into confidence.... and eventually they will help you break ice with the others...
See i'm not a professional, so i was not able to put my views across in a proper manner, it was a kind of a mish mash of advise.. But i'm sure if you put it together and try what i suggested, it will help you.....

well, its kinda hard to tell you a straight answer. Mainly for specific reasons. All boys are different.. they follow different leaderships. You might get a group of guys who want a good looking female leader so that they could try to woo the woman. Then you might get the goup of males that just dont like a female touch to the(what ever you do). But last you might have guys who just think that if the other guys dont like you that they must not like you.

Well what you can do with the ones that want a good looking leader is to show them that you are indeed good looking just by being very happy with what you look like.

With the guys who dont like any females as leaders all you can do is show them that your just like one of the guys. Make them feel happy that your their leader by showing them that you can do the same things that they do.

With the two suggestions above, all you need to remember is that you must remind them that you are a leader and that you must be given respect.

The boys that only follow the others would fall right into line with the other boys after you have completed the suggestions above.

To understand how you can lead a group of boys, you first have to understand what a male leader's role is with an all boy group. Men, especially young boys, look at a male leader as a person who understands what they are going through in life and also has confidence to handle any situation. A young boy will look at his male leader and think that he understands me because I am a male too. Now does it mean that it is hopeless for females to attempt to lead males? Absolutely not! What a women needs to do is get the group to understand that even though she is not a male, she can still provide adequate leadership just like any other male. For example, a boy asks his female leader if she help him with his soapbox car. All she has to do is show him that she is capable of helping him with the soapbox car. Just be confident in your leadership skills and the boys will follow.

I look for the same qualities as a good male leader. I dont want to see or hear a woman screeching in a shrill voice looking like a crazy chicken, kaw kaw. I dont want to see a woman trying to prove she is as much a man as a man. I want to see a woman being a woman and a great leader both. Not a feminist with an agenda. Not a crusader. Just a methodical thinker, and one to take the appropriate action to the situation at hand.

I dont look for "image" or sex appeal at all, in women or men. I look for substance, leadership, and the brains to make good things happen.

umm..if u want to lead a group of boys u need to for a while get in to their shoes. u need to figure out wht they like and what they dislike.. u need to understand , if u do what, they will respect u..

the most common difficulty faced by women leading boys is the disrespect that u get from them..so u need to find ways to get their respect.. mostly boys think, "ohh, a female, we do wht we want, she cant do any thing" (no offence), that is the mind of many BOYS, not men (as u have mentioned that ur leading boys)

u will have to show them, that ur not just a women, but that ur capable of doing what u have to do..some times u might have to say things that they dont want to hear, some times u might have to be a bit hard on them..when u get their respect it will be very easy...

and the main idea for all this is self-confidance..i beleive that u have self-confidance, because u asked this questions

respect is earned at all ages
you have to relate an be a friend to then with willingness to talk
it wont be easy mainly beacuse of the boys ages and defiance taken out on you but not meant but will be an outlet for them to vent.

most guys that follow women do so because she has a nice butt, but seriously, i don't think gender has much to do with it, maybe you've got nothing in common with these guys, maybe they see you as unwilling to be one of them, not necessarily a guy but a "team player", i work predominately with women and i have the most respect for those who wouldn't ask me to do anything she wouldn't do herself, be willing to "get your hands dirty" and i bet these guys will respect your position.
