It's not that we don't like to hang without thinking about it, were just always thinking about it. Guys think about getting laid all day every day, every time a good looking girl walks by we think about getting it on. Not to the point of animals but it's always there in the back of our mind, we're programmed to have sex with as many women as possible so of course we want to have sex with most women we see.
It's as genetic as cancer.

Women and men fulfill various needs of each other and for society at large. In my personal view it is not good for single women and single men to be alone in any case, as there are strong instincts in men to get women in bed. It is a natural phenomenon based on centuries of survival. The instinct is there and it is strong. True that this is not always true, but it can be true in many cases, especially if both parties are physically healthy and attractive.
In my religion of Islam there are strong and clearly demarked lines of conduct and association. Women are good at making social contacts, form deep relationships and create networks. Some men are gifted to do this as well, but generally women are more capable and blessed in these areas. Men are designed to protect, while women are designed to nurture. There are always exceptions and both sexes have some qualities of the opposite sex, so generalizations always have caveats.
This is my understanding experience in general and I feel strongly that is the case. Some men can hide their true feelings, but in the private discussions in which men talk to each other, with no women present they do reflect some of these sentiments. If I am wrong, I hope the Lord will guide me in due time.

Not by a long shot. I have several female friends and don't want to "get it on" with any of them. They are my friends, not potential lovers. By the way, I'm single and straight, so it's not just gays and taken men that will talk to girls.

He's talking about himself!
Though I do find it easier to trust men who are gay or happily coupled.
