Harajuku is in Tokyo. You could get a Japanese style room (as in futon) that could accomodate four for a reasonable price in a "foreigners guest house", minshuku or hostel. A Western style hotel room for four would likely be pricey.

As I recall, the youth hostel (three nights max) in Idabashi has four bunks to a room and that is reasonbly close to Harajuku. You could always stay 3 nights in the Idabashi hostel and then go over to the Yoyogi (in the fomer Olympic village) hostel for 3 nights. You could walk from Yoyogi to Harajuku in 20 minutes or so.

I usually travel alone..but I would like to try the khaosan guest house.. I have friends who has open their house already so not much of a problem but just to give you bit info.. as top answerers were both helpful..
don't know if you like the idea of staying on this kind of place .website below..but you might gve a try..because you don't give details about your budget and interests.. Subways are very convenient in Japan.. going to Harajuku is not hard..just follow the English guide booklet that you can get at the stations near your hotels ..As a traveler we don't spend much in our rooms.so why pay high..just for staying at nite..but it is your choice ...hope you all have fun.. TOKYO is waiting!
