what degree do i need to be a medical billing and coding

Accounting probably (for the "billing" portion). What type of schools are you looking into? Try calling some of them up during the day and ask about their programs. If you live close enough to any campuses that you are interested in, stroll around campus one day and talk to random people, they would be more than willing to help you out! I help people all the time at my school.

I'm going for secondary education, so I can't help much with the medical billing and all, so your best bet is to contact the school directly. Ask if they can send you the Course Guide that lists every course they offer and what it counts as. That book can save your life when attempting to choose classes!

None, you just need a highschool diploma and a few extra classes in the field.

Aim higher though. IMO, this is not a great job for a career.
