They tend to be "blue"--they vote more for Democrats.

Vermont is a blue state. As of the 2004 US Predidential elections all of New England has been blue (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont).

I would say blue for most topics but for gun control it is kind of red
