Because when the first Pirates movie was at my theater, the damn monkey was at the end of the credits whenever I went in to clean the theater. So, in turn, it's still alive to haunt my ***. And monkey's are cute so they had to leave the little guy in.

I am under the impression it is because of a different curse of sorts. Something connected to Barbossa and unexplained on purpose. We all know Barbossa died at the end of the first flick, and at the end of the second film you see him walkin' about as if nothing happened, butthe gypsy queen states he had navigated the waters at World's End. It is the one loophole they left without any sort of answer and I can only hope it gets answered in the 3rd film. Please Disney writers hear my call, write the answer ont he wall.
