I don't see what the connection is between laying in tanning beds and a person's age. How about a law forbidding everyone from making stupid decisions? Sadly, the Constitution allows us to make bad choices free from government intrusion under the 4th Amendment, amongst others.

I personally think that all age restriction laws short of driving and or having certain licenses (for the protection of the general public.) are wrong.

These things such as tanning under 18, pornography viewing, drinking, all of these, are the parents job to prevent. Not the government.

The government is not any ones father or mother.

So many people young and old are getting cancer from these things. What they are worried about is that younger people are not as likely to heed the warnings. Older people they figure well, you should know better! Rmember this... a tan to the skin is actually skin damage. It is your bodies reaction to harmful rays produced by to much sun or tanning beds. We all like the look of a bronzed body, but the cost can be deadly! Not to say that I cover myself from head to toe and never get any sun. I have a light tan that I recieve from working in my yard and garden. But I will no longer subject myself to hrs in the sun or minutes in a tanning bed just so I look like what the magazines say is sexy! Ever look at some of these people after yrs of tanning!! EWWWW!! Its like looking at a California Raisin! Yeah Baby!! Thats soooooo sexy!! LOL!!

We have enough freakin' laws now, so no, I say go ahead and lay in a stupid sun tan bed and let 'em worry about melanoma for themselves. Ridiculous.
