Technical writing is sometimes the instructions that come with or on a product. Without technical writing, there would be a lot of people out there trying to figure out to use things all by themselves!

For a degree in a technical profession, most colleges require that you take a technical writing course.

Technical writing teaches you how to write a resume, how to write letters for your business and not look like a fool. Professional writing is very different than personal writing. You are trying to convince, inform, or teach the reader.

Technical writers write all manuals. They need to look and read like a professional did it to be taken seriously. Also you need to use the language of the profession. One hallmark of a profession is that it has a language and terms particular to that profession. English is a very technical and precise language, so it can be easy to describe something and be very clear about it. It can also be easy to mislead the reader by using the wrong language or style.

The purpose of technical writing is to persuade the readers by giving them something catchy statement, next is to inform the readers what is happening in their environment, some updates, some activities and so on, next is to convince the readers to participate on what is something to write about their community. But make sure the use of language should be readable, and easy to understand.
