You talk about nothing like "where are you from", what you like to do. He knows I already have a boyfriend.

He's showing that he is at least interested in you. What his real motives are, well, only he would know that. If you're smart, you already know what they are.

Or he could just be looking for someone to hookup with, since you already have a bf, do you have any single friends that might like him?

If you have a boy friend then make sure your body language, and comments do not encourage this other man to flirt with you. You have made a commitment to someone else and you should honor it, as you expect him to honor you.
If you have a boy friend and have not done anything to encourage him toward flirting, then I would say that in general he is being polite and friendly.
If he does know that you have a boy friend, and he does allow the polite conversation to turn to flirting, you should be insulted by the little respect he is showing you, and your choice of person to commit to. I say that because his actions already show you that he has no respect for you, and if that doesn't already give you a clue of what kind of relationship he wants, and that caring about you is not a part of his intentions. You are not as intellegent as you sound. But, I think that you are intellegent, and that is why you asked the question.

It often means that he has an interest in you, but this interest can be just friendship and doesn't necessarily mean he wants to jump your bones. There are some guys who can talk to a woman without the sole purpose being to get her in bed. And some of those men are even straight.

He probably just wants to get to know you. You know, like make a new friend. People do that sometimes.
