Can anyone give me advise on or is it possible to write a letter to the judge that gave the verdict?

im asking this question because on the day of the hearing i was not notified. a misunderstanding between my ex lawyer and myself, so now i can affort a attorney, But i would like to explain my side of the story to the judge that gave the verdict,

You may be able to file for an appeal if it hasn't been very long since the judgment was rendered. A letter to the judge won't be very effective. Otherwise, you're likely SOL.
