Next to "Play it again, Sam", this is the most famous movie line that wasn't in a movie. What he said was, "Greed--for want of a better word--is good." The context made it clear he wasn't using the word "greed" in the normal way. He was talking about general desire to improve one's life. He mentioned "greed for money, greed for love, greed for life", and maybe some others. Without that drive no one would accomplish much.

Apart from the satiric name, Gordon Gecko is a complex character, not the cardboard villain he's been made out to be.

yeah right greed is not good it is totaly selfish..........i think you shouldn't have more then you can spend.
