The Ten commandments. it was so long our school played it for like three periods. also, what else but the LOTR. LORD of the RINGS.
Hey! ever heard of this joke?
one day, a maid was outside the house one afternoon and she really bored. then, passersby noticed that she wasnt going inside the house at all.
"hey! why aren't you working? your supposed to be the maid right?"
"well my masters just bought a new DVD player and every lunch, they would eat and watch until the movie ended. after that, i will come in and clean up coz they wont stop eating until the movie ended." said the maid.
" what movie are they watching?"siad one guy.
"lord of the rings." replied the maid.
" the fellowship of the ring or the two towers?"
" they're watching the whole trilogy!" screamed the maid
so that's why maids are thin and couch potatoes are weirdly fat.

single movie? possibly the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. The extended DVD with all the extra scenes. It is like 5 hours long. crazy.
Of course, Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally, You've Got Mail and other garbage like that seems to last forever...

oh god I don't remember the name of the movie...but it was freakin' long as hell. It was an Independant film about a family of Romani Gypsies where one son had the power to bend and warp silver spoons with his mind, not as a trick. I remember waking up one night, in the middle of the night, and catching it on television and being up till I had to leave for work, I was engrossed. I knew I had to leave, but I had to see the ending. A powerful moving tale of the conflicts these people faced. I think it was actually based on the spoon bender circus show sideshow man.

Outside of that one, I watched Gone with the Wind, the only movie to ever have been given an intermission in the theaters, and the new SCIFI, Frank Herbert's Dune/Children of DUne....both were good but outrageously long.

War and Remembrance was 30 hours. I also saw the prequel Winds of War which was 14 hours. I once tried to watch the whole thing (44 hours) in one sitting but I had to take a nap in the middle.

yeah titanic it was a yawn. but the one that seemed the longest was the lord of the rings return of the king. i ran out of food half way then began to get restless. you know how at the end the screen goes black then another scene starts. i stood up everytime groaned then sat back down. err, that was the longest three and half hours or so of my entire life.
