Greed, with a capital G, is a pathological condition where an emotionally crippled person seeks to replace love, achievement, and other natural grounds for self esteem, with dominance, posessions, status, etc. Sadly, "too much is not enough", and greed is presently tearing the world to pieces.

The slogan "Greed is good", is a battle cry used by "free market" advocates, who oddly enough believe that free enterprise and capitalism are the same thing. Free enterprise is the freedom to make money and rise in society through merit. Capitalism is the freedom to use accumulated wealth to crush free enterprise whenever and wherever it threatens corporate profits (through dumping, bribery, etc.).

They are really opposites... Free enterprise is about personal achievement on merit, capitalism is about inherited wealth and power, and with RARE exceptions, these are at war with one another in real life.

*sigh*
