No.
They will be better than last year but Kitna is not the answer at QB - he does not have the arm to get the ball to the WR's downfield - that was shown in the playoffs against Pittsburgh last year when Palmer went down. This year those high-pick WR's should show something though. Kevin Jones was hurt most of last year (I had him in my fantasy league... big disappointment) and will be back 100%. I thought the D looked pretty good and I like the LB they took in the first round of draft - that guy is a banger.

The Lions seems to have a cruse on them as if they are not meant to win no matter what they do they cannot ever have a winning season thus far.

Jon Kitna has expierence. He was comeback player of the year a few seasons ago. They have talented recievers. Jones can run the ball. They have talent they just need to play as a team. There defense is pretty solid and Dre Bly is the guyw ho is gonna make plays pick off the ball and score some defensive touchdowns.

I think that have a great shot at making the playoffs this year... and only time will time if they can make it to the Super Bowl... I know they'll make it farther than the Eagles... the Eagles will not see the playoffs again this year...

Well We are going to have to show the rest of the NFL what the We're made of aren't we Georgie? I'm a huge Lions fan and although they aren't Superbowl caliber yet, they definitely will make a run for the playoffs. here's why....
*Right off the bat they went through and wiped out the entire front office(Besides Millen) and got rid of Harrington(Who is still damn talented but not with the west coast ofense and under an organization that didn't really support him past the 2nd year he was here like they said they did and acted like they did)
* Rod Marinelli is the new head coach and he is a no bullshitting, nose to the grindstone defensive minded coach. He was the former Tampa Bay Bucs defensive line coach and during his stint there, they had the most dominant defensive line. So his specialty is D-line and the Lions D-line is already tough as nails so look for them to really break out and rough up all the offenses this year. He is the tough guy the Lions organization needed. If you slack off, you're gone. He doesn't play around, doesn't second guess himself and he's a no nonsense character.
*Mike Martz is now the offensive coordinator. There isn't any secret that he looked at the Lions organization and thought this was his biggest challenge. Being the mastermind behind the 'Greatest show on turf' Mad Mike is the perfect shot of adrenaline for this organization. Look who he has to work with-
Wide Receivers-
* Roy Williams- the guy (Barring injury) will have a probowl season that we know he can have. He will pull down every ball thrown to him, and possibly match his TD total of the past 2 seasons. So that's 16 TDs. If anyone can do it, It's Roy!
*Charles Rogers- Finally(Barring injury and failed drug tests) Rogers will show the lions organization, fans and the NFl what he's made of. He has shown flashes of excellence but injuries have killed him and then a failed drug test. He's hungry for the ball and he's healthy, so he's one to really have a great year.
*Mike Williams- the guy is huge and can be a dominant threat. Only is he's hungry enough to play hard and if his attitude is in check. If so, look for MW to be one hell of a receiver.
* These three guys on paper besides the Colts receivers are ridiculous. But they haven't been able to sychronize. Now is the time. This year!!! Watch out NFL.
*Scottie Vines- Scottie was the feel good come from nowhere sensation that was the most reliable receiver the Lions had last year. Look for him to possibly knock MW or CR out of the lineup and get some serious playing time.
*Corey Bradford- They say he will fight MW and CR for roster spots. Could be a huge free agent signing, only time will tell.
Running backs-
*Kevin Jones- KJ has big play ability and if he doesn't get injured, he'll get 1,500 + yards this season. He's tough as nails, has speed, stamina and agility and can catch.
*3rd round draft rookie Brian Calhoun- They say he was the steal of the draft. The guy has all the KJ talent but with better hands. Just inexperience. They want him to be a backup to return specialist Eddie Drummond as well.
*Shawn Bryson- Powerhouse with speed. He'll be a great backup again.
*FB Corey Schlesinger- One of the most feared hitters in the league. All the linebackers fear CS, because he knocks their skulls inside out. Far underrated as a Fb and one of the best blocking FBs in the league. KJ loves this guy and will gain many yards with him battering up front.
Tight Ends-
*Kevin Pollard and Dan Campbell- This is one area that is really up for grabs. While Pollard is the guy who has the ability to be a team leader and pull in some catches and score some TDs, Campbell is the superior blocking TE. We'll see what Martz has in mind.
Special teams-
*Drummond is healthy and he'll return as the premiere returner with many TDs again this season. He's backed u by 3rd round draft RB sensation Brian Calhoun and he's even said to be in the running for a WR spot because he's in such tip top physical condition.
Defense-
*The D-line is tough as nails and Marinelli is a former D-Line coach. Enough said.
Linebackers
*Boss Bailey and Teddy Lehman will return from thier last season being injury riddled and with the addition of hard hitting skull cracking 1st round draft pick LB Ernie Sims, they will be shutting down offenses and plugging many holes.
Cornerbacks
*Dre Bly and Fernando Bryant
Dre Bly will have an outstanding probowl year once again made even better withut injury this year and a returning Fernado Bryant will once again be able to feel the Hawaiin heat if he's on his game. They will be able to shut down the outside game.
safeties
*Kenoy Kennedy, 2nd round draft sensation Daniel Bullocks, and Terrence Holt. Kennedy is one of the hardest hitting and most feaqred safeties in the league while Terrence Holt has shown he can hang with any receivers and step up to make big tackles on RBs. We'll have to see what rookie Bullocks will pull out of his magic bag but the Lions love the kid so we should see a lot of him out there.
So I will say that we could definitely make a run for the playoffs, we could be 8-8, 9-7 or at best I feel 10-6 this season. But we do start the season off tough with Seattle at home in week 1 and then head to Chicago for week 2. We'll have to wait and see.......
