To me its a high content wolfdog! They aren't much like pets, more like a companion. They are very loyal and if they view you as a pack member they are very trustworthy. I have 3 and they are some of the best types of dog I have had. But all are great! I have 8 dogs and they are all nice, but the little ankle bitters can be evil sometimes!

The best pet in my heart is Cricket, who died nearly 2 years ago. She was a rescue silky terrier that we kept in the pet shop as a mascot. Found by a customer in a nearby trailer park, a boy of about 10 was kicking her around. Having been dumped there by a puppy mill breeder, most likely because she couldn't produce pups anymore. A local vet knew the unscrupulous breeder's ID by a tatoo on the dog's ear but I told him I didn't want to know the name because I was angry that someone could do that to a 4 lb. dog. At first the customer who brought her to me tried to keep the dog but felt sorry for it because she worked all day and didn't want to leave the dog home alone all the time. Even though I have other pet dogs, I fell in love with her because she was so sweet natured and followed me everywhere, even had to sit with me and laid on my pillow or she would whimper. My husband spoiled her too. At mealtime, she had a little plate of soft cooked vegetables waiting for her and she whined until she got them. Her teeth were in such bad shape that cleaning them didn't help much and she was soon toothless. The last great thing she did before she died in my arms was to teach my grandson to treat her gentle. She lay there as he patted her and tolerated him. He is only 3 now but is very gentle with our dogs. September is 2 years since she died but I still miss her. Even though her time with us was short, (we only had her about 2 years), she had a wonderful life to make up for living in a tiny kennel. It was very difficult to get her to walk much when we first had her because she had been confined so long.
