I am currently taking a prescribed course of antibiotics, Dilocil. It makes me very weak and lethargic. Can i stop ? What is the biological or physiological consequences of doing so in the near and long term ?

Definitely address your side effects with your Dr. Maybe there is another option. As to your question, if you stop taking them before the medication is finished then some bacteria that may be partially resistant to it could grow to be fully resistant to it and worsen the infection. This is what has caused our hospitals to be plagued with so called "Superbugs" like Methicillin Resistant Staph. Aureus and Vancomycin Resistant Entercoccus. Research it...you will find this is a *very* serious problem.

its ok to stop the course but you should inform your doctor.otherwise the purpose which they were given will be not fulfilled.should take the full course to get rid of an organism that causes disease.

consult your doctor immediately! he'll advise you from there.
you're not a doctor and dont ever stop taking the antibiotics! it'll do you harm as your body resistance will be affected by it.
