I think that the Gay community feels like a child drowning in the ocean. No one is there to help, but they are calling for anyone that will.
I feel that they are tired of hiding in the closet, keeping their lives a secret, and having to hide from everyone else. They are tired of being treated like second class, and made fun of, and called evil names.
They are tired of hiding from their family, their friends, their fellow employees.
There are tired of being told they are "sick", are "going to hell" and "it is a choice", "you can change if you want to".
Tired of being judged by their sexual preference only, and not their personality, their intelegence, their accomplishments.
They are tired of being stereotyped.
Tired of men thinking it's cool for two women to be together, but it's gross for two men.
Tired of being pressured into getting married, and having to make up excuse after excuse why they don't.
Tired of men assuming that because you're gay, that you want their booty.
Tired of loosing jobs, their homes, their right to serve in the military, the right to be with their loved one in the event of illness or death.
Tired of not having rights to possessions and property in the case of ones death.
Tired of not having the same guarenteed rights that everyone else has.
We can advance ourselves mentally, physically, financially, but we can't seem to advance ourselves socially.
We are one sorry excuse for a society. How can we expect to function with the rest of the world when we can't even function with our own people?

It depends on the person. I have met some I did not like at all, and some I do. I think as a whole, generally speaking, we are an open-minded group. Not too judgemental, maybe a little superficial lol.
I think we are soooooooooooo tired of discrimination, prejudice and being judged. And I think if anyone ever said "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve" to me in person I might just scream. It is the most ridiulously over-used and unintelligible Mantra I have ever heard. I would like to ask them...then who made Steve?

I think it's all a matter of definition. Some 'curious' people will say "I've never met a gay person before." What they are really saying is they have never met anyone who appears to have the characteristics they think a gay person should have. Really that's where I interpret your question as coming from - people like other people who are 'different' from them to belong to an easily definable group or class. The reality is we are a whole spectrum of beliefs, lifestyles and choices. Some of which may have points where they coincide or have common ground, but nevertheless don't always easily pigeon hole or have definition.

I think nothing more nor less than I think of the straight population. As far as condemnation, I'll leave that up to God as He made Adam, Eve and Steve. I'm sure if God has a problem with them he'll let them know at an appropriate time.
