I mean, could it possible that the foods we eat can have an effects on our behavior? Like the old saying"You are what you eat". For thousands of years, buddhist monks eating vegetarian foods also think that will help them reach tranquility and calmness in their soul too w/the helps of meditations and faith. Also, if certain foods can change moods and moods can affect behaviors. Like eat chocolates putting lovers in the moods. And some women eating ice creams or "comfort foods" to calm down after a breakup or sad events. What I want to know is, can we change criminal behaviors of prisoners by feeding them fatty foods(like icecream) or vegetarian foods so they don't get to be to be too big or muscular when they get out of prison.(Feeding them with protein foods like potatoes and give them access to workout gyms surely don't make them change their criminal behaviors, it just make them bigger, scarier and more muscular to commit more criminal acts)

No, brother. That ain't gonna work. There is more to behavior than what we eat. The monks may have believed that the vegetarian diet would bring them tranquility, but it didn't. It may have contributed to their overall health and well-being, which then affected their moods, but the food in and of itself did not create the internal state.

As for criminals--and I think that you're talking about habitual violent criminals?--there is something wrong in their brains. There was an ongoing study done a number of years ago where neuroscientists were slicing up the brains of executed violent criminals--and what they found was interesting and disturbing. The brains of many of these people had about 1/3 of the neural connections of the brain of a well-adjusted, nonviolent person. And the hypothesis was that the neural network didn't get built in these criminals' brains because during the first three years of life--when the majority of our neural connections are formed--these people had been subjected to all manner of violence, neglect, and abuse, and therefore their brains just did not form right.

No type of food is going to fix this.

If you're talking about other criminals--nonviolent offenders, like drug dealers and burglars and whatnot--I have no idea what a specific diet would do for them. But do know that preventing people from building muscle mass will not in any way change the way they think about themselves, society, and the world. A fundamental difficulty with criminals is the way they think--not how their bodies are shaped.

Why are you asking this question? Are you looking for a solution to criminality and recidivism?
