Why doesn't the Christian community speak out against this horrid man? The "Reverend" Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church, which is comprised mostly of his family members, is based out of Kansas. They were protesting at Military funerals around the country holding up signs saying lovely things like "God is your enemy" and "Thank God For IEDs." IEDs...as in improvised explosive device. These are the bombs Islamic terrorists in Iraq are using to kill our boys (and girls.) These "protesters" believe that the Military deaths are a sign of God's anger at our tolerance of homosexuals.

You read it right. These scumbags are going around interrupting these very sad occasions...because they hate gays. Picture the scene: a fallen soldier is being lowered into the ground...the 21-gun salute...maybe taps is playing. The widow is crying into her folded American flag...and here comes these religious fanatics interrupting a sacred moment. The person behind all this is Reverend Fred Phelps from Topeka, Kansas. This guy has made headlines protesting people who died from AIDS.

The things people think they can find in The Bible....unbelievable.

These people are ignorant and cruel to begin with, but they have all the makings of the next tragic cult. They'll be the next Branch Davidians, mark my words. These people are the sort of folks that sort of make us pay the price for that freedom of speech thing. Still, better that they get to stand on their soapbox and get made fun of then get their point across in a more violent manner.

If someone protested at one of my relatives funerals, I would shoot them. And I'm a Christian. Then we could just add another casket, lol Why hasn't some relative not burned down her psuedo-church yet?

They are a bunch of "whacos", most of them are related to each other too. I would throw rocks at them, if it were legal...

I think she's twisted the Bible around (and her whole family has too) and made it say what they want to hear.
