Animal cruelty sucks so it's good to have a group that stands out against it BUT ... I don't worry about some of their extremist views. Witness our canine or "eye" teeth: heavy and shaped for shredding animals. We are equipt by nature to eat meat (or flesh).

Many of us suffer serious iron deficiancies if deprived of meat. Even supplements won't carry some of us in the absence of meat. Some of us get physically weak without it.

Others of us (a minority) are able to survive comfortably and healthfully on a meatless diet. But that requires very careful dietary habits, to make sure one doesn't become anemic. And to make sure lack of protein doesn't cause overconsumption of carbohydrates and fatty foods.

Nature is both gentle and violent. To pretend we as humans aren't animals won't work. Plus many of the animals PETA protects are the very same animals who would surely kill and eat you or I if given a single opportunity.

PETA by the way. I think they are for a good cause, and if I didn't like meat so much I would probably go vegetarian. They caught all of those people on video abusing animals, the sheep farmers, Covance monkeys, Barnum & Bailey, Purina, universities, alll those things, and I think it's important for people to know about this. But the thing is, if they were going to test a drug, or whatever... i would want a mouse to do it, not a human..ANYDAY... I kind of like them, because they've exposed the not-so-cute side to the caring and treatment of animals in test or recreational facilities.

yeah/// adn i had tp edit after reading how angry you are gettting at poeple because tehy keep telling you it's PETA..

PETA is a communist organization that actually hates animals but likes being involved in any cause that devalues humans. The point is to lower the value of human life to that of an animal.

When it comes to animals, PETA is one of the most cruel and inhumane groups around. They hate animals and kill them in various sick ways. For more information on this, click the link below. Note that PETA has also been implicated in various acts of domestic terrorism and in giving money to help out terrorists that are being prosecuted. These are not harmless kooks. They are dangerous and evil freaks.

I completely agree with PETAs philosophy - all they're asking us to do is consider that animals suffer in exactly the same way that we do and should be given the rights to live without suffering that we expect for ourselves.

A lot of people use the 'canine's' arguement for meat-eating. Evolution does not happen instantly, it occurs over milllions of years through natural selection. Millions of years ago, people had to find food where ever and how ever they could to survive. With so much competition for food, humans who could eat both meat and plants and were the ones most likely to live longer, and consequently lived to pass on there genes, those who could not do this died of starvation and did not reproduce. As a result, all humans around today descend from those with canines.

Obviously life for humans is very different now. We don't have to hunt for food - we now have the choice. In our culture it is very rare for a person to die of malnutrition or starvation, we have managed to use technology and modern medicine to 'over-ride' evolution and live in circumstances that prehistoric Man would not have survived.

If we were still evolving now, it would be the meat-eaters dying out from obeasity, cancer, heart disease and diabetes -eventually those who are better adapted to digesting plants would live to pass on their genes and it would be clear that a Vegetarian diet is much safer and healthier. Fortunately we are able to provide drugs for people with these meat-induced illnesses to keep them alive.

By the way, all evidence hows that Vegetarians are healthier, live longer and are just as strong as meat-eaters - I'm a dancer and have been a Veggie since I was 12.

It's P.E.T.A.
People who Eat Tastey Animals.
They're a bunch of lunatics. There are animals with little to no natural predator but man. If We don't eat them, the population would grow so heavily that they'd starve form a lack of sufficient food sources. I say eat and enjoy.

PETA does not harrass Ted Nugent. He actually does some harrassing himself though. PETA does good uncover investigations to bring animal issues to the public light. They step in to help resolve local animal cruelty cases. They try to reduce animal suffering in factory farms (www.meetyourmeat.com). They make people realize their oppressive mindsets when it comes to everyday life such as our use of animals. They make for a more peaceful world.

For all the peta people here's a thought if people did not hunt the animal population they would over run the environment eat all the crops and spread more diseases to human in which we would all die so hunt and eat or die a slow painful process you decide.

PETA. I admire the goal, but I think they go about it the wrong way. They're too militant for my taste. It's fine to have your own beliefs and live your life a certain way, but don't force it on others. Just provide the information and opportunity to educate.
