If I remember correctly, the current super-string theory indicates that quarks are made from tiny 'strings' of energy in an 11-dimensional space. There didn't appear to be anything solid in a quark, just tightly bound energy, and we don't perceive all 11 dimensions because the dimensions are tightly wrapped on themselves at sub-nanometer (Plank) dimensions.

To answer your question, no, there doesn't appear to be a particle smaller than quarks because there is just energy at those dimensions and nothing physically 'solid'.

Yes, currently physicsts already theorized that quarks are made of even smaller units of matter called "strings". Quarks are about 10^-18 cm, whereas strings are about 10^-33 cm. So strings are even more unbelievably smaller than what was thought to be the smallest elementary particle (quark).

However, as the name suggests, strings are NOT point particles. And that's really whole "point" of String Theory. It assumes that elementary particles are not tiny dimensionless points. Instead, it assumes that elementary particles are made of strands of vibrating strings (or ribbons actually since these strings are not 1 dimensional).

From changing this ONE basic assumption, we are discovering that the Universe is very different from what we have perceived or imagined it to be. For example, String Theory requires that the Universe have 10 spatial dimensions instead of 3. It also suggests that there maybe 10^500 universes out there coexisting together in a "Megaverse" or "Multiverse", each universe very different from the other.

A quark is the smallest known particle to mankind. An atom is thought to be smallest, by mental perception, but actually there are particles smaller. An atom makes up all the objects and elements in the universe, but atoms also have their own special makeup. All atoms are made up of three things: Protons, Neutrons, and Electrons. Electrons are particles that have no mass, like a photon. Protons are made of of quarks, and have a positive static electric charge. Neutrons are made up of quarks, like protons, but also have a negative static electric charge. (citation needed) Quarks are what make up the protons and neutrons, and their length and mass is so little, we cannot measure it yet, and barely know that quarks exist. so, as far as we know, quarks are the smallest particle in the universe

yes, there are particles smaller than it and scientist will definitely discover them. they so far discoverd quark so why they can not find particle smaller than it?
