so just got offline with a friend, see if this makes any sense to you cause it doesn't make any sense for me. This person is orginally born as a female for starters, so for all purposes I'm going to refer to them as such. So she's gender identifying as third gender. This in her mind means that she's going to be intersexed genetalia wise. She's thinking of having a clitoral release and a vaginectomy to become intersexed. Honestly I have no idea why she feels the need to do this. I myself am FtM, but apparently to her I fit "social norms" since I'm "simply" changing one sex for another. I guess my question is, has anyone ever heard of this, had a friend who did this, or is doing this themselves. Also, do you think that this is wrong (none of that "you're going to hell bullshit please). I'm interested in answers WITHOUT RELIGION INCLUDED PLEASE!!!

ok, so this question isn't about me being FtM. In all honesty I'm working on being comfortable in my female body, with only breast reduction b/c I'm a DD.

and contrary to some peoples' beliefs, it's about "getting off" during sex... that's missing the whole point.

I've heard of this before, it's popular in some subcultures. That's sick stuff, but hey, this whole world is sick!
You might want to do some reading on this:

I will say I haven't heard of changing genitalia to FIT the category, but...
This would make sense to me if it were a political thing. Do you know if that's accurate? (If it's not, then it doesn't really matter what makes sense to me so long as she's happy). Like, there are more than two, and indeed far more than three "genders", especially if you're looking at it through societal gender. I've heard of people IDing as androgynous, or genderqueer, or "other" even. I think I'm very curious about it, but I think I'd be pretty hard pressed to call it "wrong".

Good luck on the no religion thing, lol.
In answer to your question, yes I have heard of this before. There was this special on discovery channel about a man who wanted to be a third gender. It was very interesting because he first wanted to become a woman, then through further research and options, decided on being third gender. I don't remember if he went through or not with the final surgery, it was a really old episode. But check out discovery channel website, I'm sure they'd have some info on it.

Hi, Imagine my surprise at finding this question in here. LOL Yes I am Intersexed. I was born a genetic female but androgines were introdused into my system when my mother was given a drug to keep her from having a miscarriage. Progestin was given regularly to women with spotting in the 50s and 60s. My mother was one of them. It caused what I am. And although I am a genetic female I look anything but female. if you have yahoo360 my profile will show you that. Buddy me up and send me an IM. we should talk.

Honestly I can't see why people pay so much for it because just like Cosmetic surgery, which that's all it is. I mean no disrespect by this but people are to scared to be who they really are and want to be something else. If you think you a woman in a man's body that's fine but real courage is lookin in the mirror and realizing hey your a ****** woman. Thats goes both ways. The only reason people think like that is because thats how they get off during sex.

Wow. I have never heard of that. It sounds interesting. No, I don't think that it is wrong, but I really don't feel that anything is wrong. If that will make her happy, then that is what she should do. I would like to learn more about this. I can see what she means about gender and social norms. I don't think that you should be blamed for fitting into social norms, though. You shouldn't worry about that. I am personally an androgenous-like being, although I am technically female. Does she mean that she will be changing sexually to an androgenous being? That is really interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I've never heard of anyone wanting to be of multi-sex but could it be that that was only the first part of their transformation? Maybe i just didn't understand completely.

from what you describe, i see that is only outer physical change
until now i never heard that human can genetically alter their sex
so you can always adress her as "Miss" or "mistress"
