Yes. In fact the creator of the series has always wanted to create them but was apparently a bit unhappy with the way he was treated when he first came out with the series.

I understand that they will not be carried (at least not initially) on Cartoon Network, but probably on another station like Fox.

I'm very much looking forward to it, as they have gained all of the original voice actors.
