No, I think we're at a standstill. I think that people of various races have intermarried for many years, and perhaps it is more common now, but there are certainly still people who would not consider relationships with members of another race.

Personally, after all of my travel and interest in other cultures, I have no issue with relationships between people of different races. If I can be friends with people from different cultures, I don't understand why a relationship should be any different; I've only ever been with caucasians, but I don't have any problem with other races. It's just by default that I haven't: most of the people I encounter are caucasian, and do your math, and you'll see the probability.

Also, people tend to stick with their own cultural group. You're more likely to see Asians hang around other Asians, Latinos around other Latinos, etc. Because of this, the probability that they will actually form relationships outside of their cultural groups is lower. Only a few people offset this by actually forming relationships with people of other cultures.

Also, sometimes the cultural differences between individuals is too great for people of other cultures to tolerate enough to actually consider a relationship. For example, would you consider moving to the African savannah just to have a relationship with a girl from some obscure tribe there? Or would you run away when her family offers you the common drink of goat's milk mixed with the goat's blood? (I know I'd run for McDonald's!) You see, the cultural differences are just too much to conquer sometimes, but that doesn't mean you can't be friends. Maybe just don't marry her if you don't want to drink goat blood for the rest of your life in the jungle. (That really is a common drink in some parts of Africa; I've read about it. Can you say "parasites?!" Uncooked...not my idea of a good drink, but I respect and am fascinated the cultural difference. You just won't see me chugging that anytime soon.)

no we are getting even more separated, you cant really see this as much because there are more people now. People do care unfortunately, you do see alot of porn with interracial mixing, which is personally my favorite. I have friends that are Persian, they are very well off and live in a great neighborhood, getting the police to their house after a home invasion took only 8 hours to respond. the same friend got in an accident in the same area a hit and run and police response was very slow when the stupid cop finally arrived they told him that they had the license plate of the person who hit them. The idiot said he doesn't handle traffic only real crimes. The dummy forgets that a hit and run is a felony and all he has to do is go and look it up on his pig mobile and go arrest them. I got bumped by someone in the same city and my police response was in less than 5 minutes, of course my last name is white hence the quick response. I could go on an on but I'm getting pissed.

No, its getting tighter. There is a silent war going on between blacks and hispanics. We are in a strong competition for the same jobs. And here in Texas it is BAD. We practically hate each other. And I haven't worked or been around white people in years because we arent after the same jobs. But I notice a lot more tension between whites and blacks this year than i did 10 years ago.

As long as people keep bringing it up, it'll never die. The only racism in me is that I'm sometimes afraid to say black people around black people. I once didn't use a brown crayon when I was 10 because my teacher was black. It's fuggin rediculous and we need to stop bringing up questions any thing like this one. I don't know any black people, so that might have something to do with it too. My town is 98% white, according to wikipedia.

I think it's the exact opposite. When you see a black man with baggy pants what do you think? Or an Asian driving? Or even a girl with a short skirt on the corner waiting for the bus?

it's only appearances. What people do and what they think are two different things.
