I am a regular wearer of year long contacts. Soft. 3month packs at a time. I recently bought one-day color contacts and they are expensive. I want to use my same ten pack not for ten days but longer. DO they really deteriorate or is that just what they say to get us to buy more? Can I stretch these ten pack, one-day contacts for 6months or a year? Anyone have experience with this?

There have been television reports on how companies and opticians do lie about contacts. They're all made of the same plastic, they all last the same. If they weren't, it would be written on the packaging. Check the box. I use the contacts (that were supposed to be used for 3 months) for as long as 3 years. BUT it is very important that you clean them well and often. Give them a chance to disinfect, not just for 8 hours, but for 24 hours as often as possible. If they get cloudy or dry or uncomfortable, use the cleaning tablets to get the protein deposits off. Do Read the Information on the Box! I've never had colored contacts, so I don't know if they are a special situation. But I doubt it.
